About the Milan Food Tour
Get a taste of Italy with our Milan Food Tour! A local guide will show you the delicious staples of Italian cuisine, from savory charcuterie boards to scoops of sweet gelato. Visit the best restaurants and bars in Milan, and eat delicious street food just like a local!
Although this is a Milan Food Tour, you’ll be trying delicacies from all over Italy! Taste focaccia from Liguria, pastries from Sicily, specialty sandwiches from Venice, and other delicious traditional dishes you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
On this tour, you’ll try:
- a decadent charcuterie board full of prosciutto and cheese
- traditional focaccia made in the Ligurian way
- artisan sandwiches bursting with flavor
Everything is made with fresh, authentic ingredients!
End your tour on a sweet note with soft gelato and traditional Sicilian pastries! Both desserts are made the true Italian way. The ice cream is made with smaller amounts of butterfat, and the Sicilian cannoli is filled with ricotta cheese.
As you hop between food stops, your local guide will teach you all about the history of Milan. From its ancient Celtic beginnings to its modern-day prominence as a fashion capital, sports powerhouse, and economic center.

I ate lunch, and our tour was at 5pm…I should’ve skipped the lunch. You eat a lot, and it’s all delicious. The sandwiches were some of the best I’ve ever eaten (definitely better than anything in America), and I think I could eat my weight in cannoli. Honestly, I’d do this tour again.
I swear Italians are so slender, and I can’t understand how. If I lived in Italy, I’d never stop eating! The Milan food was delicious. Francesco was also a great guide - he had lots of fun anecdotes about the places we were visiting, and you could tell he was passionate about the food. I really appreciated that.

EAT ITALY'S SAVORY DELICACIES
Your tour begins with salty specialties: Venetian sandwiches, Ligurian focaccia, and a charcuterie board of Italy’s finest cured meats and cheeses. The salty, soft focaccia is made the traditional way (with risen dough), and the charcuterie board’s meats and cheeses are specifically chosen to complement one another. Later, when choosing your artisan sandwich, you can either select classic ingredients like ham and mozzarella or opt for more trendy truffles, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes.
TREAT YOURSELF TO SWEET DESSERTS
However much you ate beforehand, there’s always room for dessert! Your guide will make sure you try at least two sweet treats: gelato and an authentic Sicilian pastry. Gelato contains much less air and butterfat than typical American ice cream, which gives it a denser, creamier texture. The second dessert is usually the iconic cannoli: Sicily’s trademark dessert, a tube-shaped shell stuffed with a creamy ricotta filling.

Have you heard of Milan's signature food panettone?
Milan has its own claim to fame among the culinary capitals of Italy: the panettone! A type of sweet bread and fruitcake, panettone is traditionally eaten in Italy during the Christmas and New Year’s Eve period. Although its origins have always been in Milan, it became widely popular in the early 20th century, especially after Milanese baker Angelo Motta began mass-producing it in 1919.
