I loved cycling through quiet areas like Porta Romana and Navigli. Our guide, Nico, was great. He shared so many interesting facts about the city's past and how it evolved to become one of the world’s most important fashion centers. It was a relaxed pace, with no rush, so I could really appreciate Milan’s atmosphere.
We took this guided bike tour as a family and had an amazing time. The route was easy to follow, even for my kids, and we got to see different sides of Milan. We especially enjoyed Sempione Park, near Sforza Castle, which was a great photo stop and place to rest. This was a great way to enjoy Milan!

Milan’s hidden waterways
Milan's Navigli canals, originally developed and later improved by Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th century, were once vital trade routes. An interesting historical fact is that these waterways were essential in transporting marble to build the Duomo di Milano.
To help finish the cathedral, marble from the quarries of Candoglia was transported via these canals in the 19th century. However, with the arrival of railways, the canals were mostly filled in and abandoned. Today, Milan's historic and modern sides coexist in the lively Navigli neighborhood, which is full of cafés and shops. While cycling through this neighborhood, you can experience the lasting legacy of Milan's canal history.
