Definitely worth it!

I have been more than 5 times in Milano but never went to the Duomo rooftop. The weather was perfect so my husband and I decided to book these fast-track tickets and go for a climb. All went perfect! Kind security, no queuing and sunny views of the city. Seeing all those marble spires up close was truly amazing! Do it when the weather is good, otherwise it's worth half of it.

A fantastic experience!

Climbing the 250 stairs to the top was a bit of a workout, but completely worth it. You get to see the architectural details and statues from angles you cannot see from the ground. The whole terrace area is much larger than I expected, giving us plenty of space to take photos. Everything went smoothly at the entrance with our mobile tickets. This is a must-do if you are visiting the city!

Liam
Spectacular views and quick entry

We chose the elevator option, which made the visit much easier. The views over the main square and the rest of Milan were stunning, especially in the afternoon light! It was quite windy up there, so bringing a light jacket is a good idea. Recommend getting these skip-the-line tickets because the regular line to the rooftop was very long!

DESCRIPTION

Duomo Milan Rooftop Tickets

DISCOVER THE INTRICATE GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE

Your journey begins right at the heart of the city, at the spectacular Milan Cathedral. With your ticket, you will head straight to the dedicated entrance for the rooftop terraces. As you make your way up, you will immediately notice the stunning Candoglia marble used to build the cathedral. This specific pink-hued marble has been continuously quarried for over 600 years just for this structure. Walking on the roof allows you to see the intricate craftsmanship of the 135 spires and thousands of statues up close.

ENJOY THE MILAN SKYLINE

Once you reach the main terrace, a spectacular 360-degree view of Milan opens up before you. Look down at the bustling Piazza del Duomo and watch the city life from above. You will see modern skyscrapers like the Unicredit Tower contrasting perfectly with historic buildings. If you visit on a sunny and clear day, the view extends all the way to the majestic Alps. Audio guides are available on your smartphone to help you identify the specific landmarks and mountains visible from the top.

MEET THE FAMOUS MADONNINA

While exploring the highest points of the terraces, look up to spot the golden Madonnina statue. Standing tall at the very top of the main spire, it has watched over the city since 1774. This iconic golden figure is a beloved symbol for the locals and shines beautifully in the sunlight. Your rooftop walk will bring you as close as possible to this historic masterpiece.

FAQ - Duomo Milan Rooftop Tickets

How long does it take to walk up the stairs to the terraces?

Climbing the 250 stairs to the roof usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes at a steady pace. There is a middle terrace where you can stop and take a short rest before completing the final 90 steps.

Is the rooftop accessible for wheelchair users?

The terraces are partially accessible for visitors using wheelchairs. You can take the elevator to the lower terrace, but the higher levels are only reachable via stairs.

What happens if it rains on the day of my visit?

The terraces remain open during light rain, so we recommend bringing a raincoat as umbrellas are not allowed. However, in cases of severe weather, ice, or strong winds, access may be temporarily closed for safety reasons.

Are there restrooms located on the terraces?

There are no restroom facilities or cafes located on the rooftop. Please use the public restrooms located nearby in the Piazza del Duomo before you begin your ascent.

Is there a time limit for staying on the roof?

Once you are on the terraces, there is no strict time limit for your visit. You are free to explore, take photos, and enjoy the views at your own pace until the cathedral closes.

What else should I see while visiting Milan?

Milan is a city rich in art and culture with many nearby attractions. There are many Milan Tickets and Milan Tours available. If you want to explore the inside of the cathedral and see the famous stained glass windows, consider booking Milan Duomo Tickets. We highly recommend booking a Last Supper Guided Tour to see Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece. You can also book Sforza Castle tickets to explore 8 museums inside the castle.
