I booked the Milan Walking Tour for my family and we enjoyed it very much. Our local guide, Lucia, took us to see all the major landmarks, such as Milan Cathedral and The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. However, the highlight of our walking tour was a visit to the San Maurizio church. We specifically asked to visit it because we had seen on TV that the church is sometimes used for services celebrated in the Byzantine Rite according to the Italo-Albanian tradition. The inside of the church is beautiful and decorated with frescoes from the Renaissance period. We even met the local priest, who proudly said that these frescoes are equally beautiful as the one in the Sistine Chapel. I don't know about that, but the colors are vivid and the details are really nice. I definitely recommend booking the Milan Walking Tour and be sure to ask for Lucia!
For me and my wife, it was a completely different experience to be walking through the city of Milan with a local guide. After visiting Castello Sforzesco and Milan Duomo, our guide took us to some pastry shops and one place where they make artisan gelato. I can’t remember the name (it's something like Crom or Grom), but they serve the most delicious ice cream we've ever tried! During the tour, our guide also pointed out good souvenir shops with lower prices and warned us about tourist traps. It's just incredible how many tourists pass by some hidden gems and just go from landmark to landmark. Booking this guided tour was money well spent, as we got a lot of good advice and tips on what to see by ourselves.

START WITH THE MILAN CATHEDRAL
Choose to visit the Milan Duomo, and let your local guide show you around this iconic landmark. Did you know it is one of the largest cathedrals in Italy? An even more astonishing fact is that it took six centuries to complete! When the construction started, it was the Middle Ages, and by the time it was finished, humanity was preparing for the space age. Just imagine what sort of stories, precious artwork, and majestic feats of engineering you'll witness inside! Of course, the choice is yours, but in our experience that's a must!
CONTINUE TO GALLERIA VITTORIO EMANUELE II
On this guided tour of Milan, you might want to spend some time exploring the most famous shopping gallery in Italy. Named in honor of the first king of unified Italy, this landmark is known for its iron- and-glass dome and luxurious boutiques. Your local guide will show you around and tell you intriguing stories known only to the residents of Milan. One of the highlights in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is its large floor mosaic with intricate designs of medieval coats of arms, zodiac signs, and a variety of other depictions. One of the more popular ones is the famous Turin Bull mosaic. It is said that placing your foot on a certain part of the bull's anatomy and spinning around three times brings luck! Who knows - you might as well try it.
VISIT LEONARDO DA VINCI'S LAST SUPPER
Decorating one of the walls in the Santa Maria delle Grazie is one of the most famous murals ever created - the celebrated and enigmatic “Last Supper”. Painted by the great Leonardo da Vinci more than 500 years ago, this mural continues to baffle art historians as well as ordinary people. If you choose to visit (and we highly recommend you do), you’ll discover many surprising facts about this masterpiece.
EXPLORE THE CITADEL OF THE SFORZA FAMILY
Depending on your preferences, you might want to visit one of the largest citadels in the whole of Europe. Castello Sforzesco was the citadel and seat of power of the formidable Sforza family. They ruled Milan during the Renaissance and brought countless talented artists to work on their passion projects. One such talent was Leonardo da Vinci, who is credited for painting the Sala delle Asse hall. Inside you will find vast collections of art and artifacts. In conclusion, if you like European castles, you're going to love visiting Castello Sforzesco!
