This day trip to Venice was a great idea to get out of Milan!

We were in Milan for a week, and wanted a day trip to see something new. This was a good choice - we saw much more than if we had gone by ourselves! The boat ride, for example, was absolutely gorgeous. Plus we really learned a lot on the tour.

Very well-organized and fun

The bus was waiting when we arrived, and left exactly on time. Same thing when returning. Excellent organization. In Venice, the boat ride with its views of the city was one of the best experiences of my life. We tried to replicate it - we did a gondola ride during free time, and spent more time on the water!

Milan to Venice Day Trip

SCENIC BOAT CRUISE ON THE VENETIAN LAGOON

As soon as your bus rolls into Venice, you’ll board a picturesque boat and cruise over the city’s lagoon! Feel the breeze and sea spray on your face as you explore the blue waters and many islands of Venice, and admire the beautiful city as you sail. You’ll see ancient buildings accessible only via boat, colorful houses that brighten the skyline, and the grandiose Rialto Bridge with countless boats passing below.

WALK AROUND THE CITY CENTER WITH AN EXPERT GUIDE

Step off the boat and explore Venice’s city center with a local guide, who’ll point out landmarks like St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, and more. The social center of Venice, St. Mark’s Square, is a sprawling open space home to the Lion of Venice, an ancient bronze statue symbolizing Venice and its patron saint, St. Mark. Right next door, you’ll see the imposing Doge’s Palace, which was the official residence of Venice’s authority.

Did you know about the similarities between Venice and Milan?

Venice is famous for its picturesque canals. However, Milan also has a canal network: the Navigli Canals. These waterways, designed by Leonardo da Vinci, were crucial for irrigation and transportation of goods, just like Venice’s canals - but on a smaller scale. One of Navigli's most famous deliveries was marble from Candoglia, used to construct the Duomo. To enjoy a touch of Venice during your stay in Milan, join one of the excellent Milan tours that pass by the city’s canals, such as the best bike tours in Milan or the Hop-On Hop-Off Milan City Bus Tour.
